Lorde calls out Spotify’s AI “About the Song” feature: “reducing a song to an ai generated meaning right at the source feels like it limits free interpretation imo. At least make it possible for artists to opt out please💘”

    1. They could have made this feature like the old pop-up video that discusses the history or process of making the song, but no that would require them to actually give a shit.

AI platforms seem to have forgotten about the Intelligence part and fully honed in on the Artificial part

    3. AI is supercharging the media literacy and critical thinking crisis. The brain is a “myscle” we need to train it. People are being fed spoonfuls this shitty ‘thinking’ and turning off their own actual brains. Slop all the way down.

Let artists add non AI ones at the bare fucking minimum.

It’s cool to add extra context, but not inaccurate ones.

Fuck knows what the one for “common people” looks like after Americans didn’t fucking understand the meaning of it.

Fun fact, I (loosely) know the guy who sold this feature and the “Song DNA” feature to Spotify. He continually posts about it on his Instagram and on LinkedIn like he’s done some amazing thing, but hopefully this and other artists push back on this bs.

I’m mostly curious how it will interpret Taylor Swift’s songs. “Wood,” for example.

So many songs are missing the lyrics square for me since this AI About the Song thing was added.

    8. This is the exact shit that makes you realise AI is just an economic scam. Like what benefit does this offer? Who is using it? Its just cramming AI in for the sake of it, with zero benefit to the user.
