I Interviewed Rihanna About Chris Brown And I Was FREAKING OUT

I interviewed Rihanna just months after she had been beaten up by Chris Brown. This was in 2012. And the whole interview I kept finding ways to ask about Chris and I kept being in absolute fear that she was going to walk out! #rihanna #chrisbrown #hiphop

    1. That incident tarnished Chris Brown's legacy forever. He should've been the greatest in a lot of people's book but he destroyed that himself!🤦🏾‍♀By the way, her hairstyle that era was so🔥

    2. Check out Baby Toure!

Also, this is such a well-crafted interview. He was engaged with his subject, but not weirdly like just a goofy fan.

Every journalism student should watch this video and take an abundance of notes!

      Well done, sir. Well done.😃🎉

    3. Teach these youngans Touré!

Also, lol!! @ your crushing and gushing on Rihanna. I was highly entertained by the adlibs alone. Us island girls have that effect lol

    4. Touré, you simp. 😂 She still had the accent.

Looking at this interview makes think of how much those moments we didn't fully absorb when they were happening. I wonder if we're fully absorbing the moments we are living now.

    5. At 19 years old, he was still just a young man, and it is time to move past it. Following that incident, Chris was utterly ruined. He lost everything and was left fighting an unjust system, the media, and fair-weather friends. His 19-year-old mind lacked the maturity to properly navigate ownership, counseling, and anger management; he simply threw himself into rebuilding his career. When we are surrounded by people who offer band-aid solutions instead of genuine guidance, true healing never happens.

Furthermore, while it's true that betrayal can drive women to violence especially when the lying continues (i.e. Jonathan Major is an example)God and Rhee have both granted him forgiveness. This grace is precisely why he continues to succeed despite the spiritual warfare within the music industry. God sees the heart of every individual. Those who study scripture without cherry-picking know that David committed murder but still became a man after God’s own heart. Moses also took a life, yet became one of God’s greatest prophets (PBUH). Ultimately, God judges the depths of our hearts rather than our worst earthly actions. I will conclude with as a Muslim, that honors one of the 5 pillars of Islam PRAYING 5 times a day, is spending moments with the Creator of the Heavens and Earth to renew my heart to align with my actions so that I can learn to forgive and ask to be forgiven by one who created me. Alhumdillah
