      The Muppets were a pleasant surprise but this halftime show is just… so odd? Like the whole thing feels like it’s pre-taped or something? I don’t know

      They should’ve finished with BTS. The mood switch from Dynamite to Everything Hallelujah was jarring.

      No shade to any of the performers. BTS, Bieber and Shakira all sounded good. But this has been one of the most surreal things I have seen on TV in a while.

      Why are the Muppets here? Why is Ronaldinho driving Madonna in a disco mad max car? Why is Ted Lasso introducing Justin Bieber?

      this show is so unnecessary and disjointed with everyone and their momma performing but BTS are always such fun to see. i enjoyed this a lot and changing lyrics to include football references was cute. too bad the vibe immediately shifted and was fully killed with the next performance

      Listen I’m a huge BTS fan but this whole thing was unnecessary. Shakira is always a great performer but like, why did this happen at all??

      I like the muppets bit because I love the muppets but the whole thing is so American and not very World Cup at all. I hope they don’t take this forward to future the tournaments and it’s just a quirk of it being hosted there. We need to rally against the Americanisation of everything.

      The whole thing is just… bad (talking about the halftime show not BTS). Like no cohorence or any theme and direction whatsoever. It‘s just throwing anything on the wall, it‘s just so messy. And whoever decided that an accoustic ballad is fit for a sporting event needs to be fired.

      This show is really stupid, but I am all for the return of the muppets in the mainstream. I grew up as a huge muppet fan (the 2011 movie forever holds a place in my heart and mind) and I’m happy Disney (not counting ye Sesame Street muppets I spotted, since they are not owned by the mouse) is finally doing something with them. Gimmie more muppets.
