He is great and will certainly hold this record for a while and also sharpen it in 4 and 8 years.
But the added teams do help a lot. Klose’s 16 is more impressive to me until someone gets to 25. And I’m also gonna take away what he scored in the glorified exhibition game against England for 3rd place the other day. Scoring against San Marino in the world cup qualifiers is about as big of a competitive achievement as scoring in that game nobody cared about was. I don’t care if people call me a hater because everyone that knows football knows I’m right. Those goals were not world cup difficulty goals.
