      I’ll never forget this gem of a quote from Joe Frazier. Their rivalry was insane:

      “He’d made that clear in 1996 at the Olympics in Atlanta when he was beside himself after learning Ali would be lighting the Olympic flame. Once it was done he told a small gaggle of reporters, “I should have been picked. I wish Ali had fallen into [the flame]. If I had the chance, I’d have pushed him in.”

      I remember watching this as a child and seeing my dad tear up and not knowing wth was going on

      I remember this. My best friend’s dad got to carry the torch at some point on its journey because they were trying to make it up to US Olympians from 1980.

      sorry all i wasn’t born or know much about the context of this moment. i am aware he had parkinson’s but what made this moment tough for all? was this his first appearance?
