      100%. Wildlife photography has lost its appeal just because you’re always doubting if it’s real.

      Ai “art” will always be a cheap, crappy remake of an original. It can think, react, or perceive anything. It can’t make art for this reasons and many others. A programmed machine can never make real art.

      I recently chaperoned a bunch of 6th graders for a field trip to the zoo.

      The group I was with would watch a grizzly three feet on the other side of plexiglass, swimming in a pond and shout: “So AI! Sooo AI!”
      Something awe-inspiring is no longer awesome but more akin to something fake that it makes it hard to believe. Like one degree away from regular awe. So strange.

      What Robert has done to further his father’s legacy yet carve out his own distinct voice is amazing. And he’s right, AI is crap.

      AND with wildlife photos especially, it hurts research! There’s big drama in the birding community right now with AI-generated photos showing birds in situations that would be really fascinating for research IF they were real. It’s really trashing the data.

      Perfectly said! Same goes for AI art. Genuine human talent is what is always most impressive to me with any art form!
