RIP Chester. He knew something was in the air when he hated Ian Watkins (who went on record saying that he didn’t get on with him), before all the allegations of him committing the crimes he committed.

I dyed my hair in high school because of the One Step Closer to the edge Video.

I was a Linkin Park girly, my email address was linkinparkangel69@yahoo.com (and no I did not know what 69 was lmao), I was a part of LPU (Linkin Park Underground) and found so much solace in the lyrics and screams from Chester. I was just an angsty teen feeling misunderstood and the catharsis I found through early LP has stayed with me forever. Learning about Chester’s past of being abused and mental health struggles explained a lot about his death and all I want is for him (and many others who couldn’t take the pain anymore) is to have found peace ❤️
If you are reading this and struggling with suicidal ideation/have made plans, please tell someone you love. We want you here, okay? Big hugs 🫂

*I don’t like my mind right now*
*Stacking up problems that are so unnecessary*
*Wish that I could slow things down*
*I wanna let go but there’s comfort in the panic*
*And I drive myself crazy*
*Thinking everything’s about me*
*Yeah I drive myself crazy*
*’Cause I can’t escape the gravity*
I wasn’t so sure about “Heavy”, one of Chester’s last singles in his lifetime, when it was released… now for whatever reason it’s the song I listen to when I remember him. I hope he is at peace.

I started listening to Linkin Park in the car with my dad as a kid and was a mega fan for most of my teen years. I’m forever grateful my dad took me to see them just a few years before Chester died. It’s still one of my favorite concert memories with him! Funny enough, not that long ago we both coincidentally showed up for a family party wearing our shirts from that tour

Soundgarden is one of my favorite bands. I was devastated when Chris Cornell passed, it just didn’t make sense to me. He was such a talent, one of the best rock voices of all time.
Hard to imagine the suffering they both felt inside while being such important voices for our generation. I was at the U2 concert a few days after Chris died. Bono performed the most touching tribute to him. RIP Chris and Chester. I’m not religious at all, but I hope you two are finally free of pain, and rocking out together somewhere tonight

My sister was in a terrible car accident which changed the course of my life forever. I was obsessed with Linkin park, specifically “crawling”. It resonated so much and even though I didn’t know Chester I feel so sad for his passing. I will always love LP 💕

First concert I ever went to was LP, with Cornell as the opener. So weird thinking about how both lead vocalists are gone.
That night I saw them, Chester broke his wrist. He jumped from the higher tier on stage, but caught his shoe somehow so he spun around in the air and landed top down. They finished the song, took a break and came back out and he was like “It’s still gonna be broken in 2 hours.”
I still can’t believe who the band chose to bring in after Chester. Haven’t listened to a second of them since…
