Zendaya is considered white passing in Hollywood. She is cast the basis of her race, not the content of her character or talent.

Nice to see grand movies making a comeback – or should I say 'grand, exciting and well written'. Also big movie stars making a comeback – Matt and Anne look absolutely amazing. Nolan is an outstanding director – I hope this inspires a renaissance of movie making.

Anne Hathaway is a very good actress but something about her as a person just feels a little…off (to me). Not just now or here, but always. I wish they had Samantha Morton or Zendaya doing the tours. But she is one of the main characters and so I get it but still..

How much is everyone getting paid to promote this movie? Haha, is everywhere but sorry I don't share the same feeling. Everything seems to be exaggerated about the movie. But actors are amazing though.
I haven't even seen the movie, just a few trailers on YouTube, but the only thing, that I noticed right away, that really puts me off is the modern language. It makes the film sound like a popcorn movie. Modern language cheapens the movie. Sorry, can't get past this, but I will still go watch it anyway.
I'm from a Greek back round. I grew up reading Greek mythology/legends etc. These are stories told over and over with every generation. There are lessons learned with mythology/legends that can be applied to modern times.

at the end, when whoopie said, men are dumb, and Anne's character fooled them for 20 years, look at Nolan's face…he hate all that, the insult to men and she gave away the movie..

i went back to movies after 6 years just to see this film, every role, every scene, every message and moral battle. Gosh, i left so overwhelmed. This is a multiple winning Oscar. Go to your local cinema and watch it.

Nolan is a great director, and I love Whoopi, but adding a modern pacifist subtext in "The Odyssey" is a nonsense : in ancient Greece, war was seen as a noble and almost sacred experience, and dying during a battle was supposed to make you a hero… Of course, today, for us, this can sound insane, but Odysseus never was in Homer's text a man full of guilt, too serious or sad about violence… And furthermore, he was capable of humor and joking and sometimes could be (too) proud of it ("my name is Nobody", crucial and brilliant idea in the poem, but NOT in Nolan's adaptation, for some reason), and he was full of life and energy (and certainly not ashamed or feeling guilt for having been in wars or killing people)…

What an incredible movie but the last part where this woman is calling men “stupid”. You’re sitting in front of a MAN who has made this masterpiece. For god sake don’t make things about you or a gender. This movie should be celebrated.
I saw Odyssey on Imax (not 70 mm) on Saturday and now I want to try to see it in Imax 70 mm to see how different an experience it can be…can't get a ticket for the next week unless I go to a matinee, and even then it is the first row! 😮

How did Telemachus get a British accents in fact his parents both speak in American accents? It's an easy question because Antinous got British accents, he could probably took care of Telemachus.
It was the hardest movie I ever had to make and I got paid mega millions dollars to recite memorized lines and act. And meanwhile, people in the healthcare industry get paid low wages to help people every day.
It's an average film that's far too loud, the story "empty" for the duration. And the "hype" of Imax, it's nonsense.
Glad you loved a movie whose source material was borne from greek culture, greek terrain, greek language, greek values, greek traditions, greek people and greek religion…written by a greek! And not one Greek actor….All mythology has roots, be it Norse, African or Greek….Imagine an African mythology, where the most beautiful woman in the world was a "white girl" and no african actors anywhere?
