What an absolutely lovely response. I feel like even as someone who supports trans women in sports, I get caught up in the mindset of competition and lose sight of the other, far more important qualities that taking part of a team or physical activity can imbue you with.
I love this from her so much. I wish these transphobic cis women realized that this will effect them too. If you are deemed too “masculine”, what’s to stop anyone calling you trans and following you into the bathroom or excluding you from a sport?

Absolutely needed with TERFs in the sport feeling comfortable speaking out, we need prominent voices like hers amplified just as much. The trans-sports “issue” is something that dominates so much discussion while affecting so few people, it’s transparently just another talking point to denigrate, exclude, and make legislation against trans folk

Yes! And let’s remember: the hate is geared toward ALL women, female, femme presenting, and gay male players … and any other non-cis-man athletes.
There was quite literally a freak out over the volleyball player who was a bit extra after all his volleys. Quite literally a man on a men’s team and still was a problem for the haters.
And let’s also not forget that the Heritage Foundation, Trump’s think tank, is quite literally talking about ending Title 9. Taking actual scholarships away from college athletes on women’s teams…like, literally wanting to defund women’s college sports (since the right loves whining about “defund the police” let’s consider all the things they have and continue to want to defund.)
I’m so tired of fence sitters and “well, aKkKcCTuALly” dems who refuse to unequivocally support ALL femme people accessing sports.
