Christopher Nolan avoided CGI and used 7ft stuntmen to portray giants in The Odyssey. The giant leader is portrayed by actor Josh Stewart, while Matt Damon’s stunt double is Devyn Dalton, who is just under 5ft

Saw an interview where Damon told a story of thanking his stunt double for making his biceps look great, seems he wasn’t exaggerating haha

He clearly used some sort of editing. That giant is way wider and bigger than that guy and taller relatively on the left picture. You could stack at least 2 Damon’s and not reach the height.

Holy *crap* she *does* have totally buff arms, just like Damon said!😉😁

I am so sick of this “Chris Nolan doesn’t use CGI” bullshit. Nearly every single movie in his filmography use CGI, even if it’s just to paint out wires, multiplying crowds, or fixing up rotoscoping masks. For fuck’s sake, his visual effects crew has won Oscars for most of their films.

    5. I hate the bashing CGI take and as if Nolan is the first person ever who thought to combine Practical and CGI. He isn’t.

This was standard back in the day. Even a cash grab soulless sequel based on a Disney movie based on a park ride. They blew up boats! Used pipes for the Kraken, Davy Jones is still that bitch.

Nolan is just someone who still combines the two.

      Villeneuve does it too
