To the person who kvetched about mourning the doggo:

We are expressing sorrow for the WHOLE family, because the legal standard does not apply to sweet Gilbert.

Love and grief are multiplied, not divided.

      > Federal defender Manny Atwal spoke only briefly after the victim impact statements Thursday, saying Boelter showed remorse for his actions by pleading guilty and accepting the life sentences.

Nah Atwal, highlight the main reason why Boelter accepted: so the prosecution won’t seek the death penalty. He planned every step, made every decision, and he killed with focus. That’s intent and he was very motivated. Boelter’s alive and he took out some of the people he wanted dead. I don’t believe he’s remorseful at all. If he has remorse, it’s because his plan was incomplete – Yvette and John are alive.

I hope that Melissa and Mark are at peace. I hope Gilbert is with them, happy and loved, wherever that peaceful place is. I hope Yvette and John have more joys than sorrows for the remainder of their living years.

    5. Never should have happened. I hope their children can find some relief in the sentence and the knowledge that the state is going to prosecute him as well, just to be certain he never makes it out.
