      That film is absolutely nutso insane there’s no way a remake is gonna recapture how dam weird it was.

      The most recent Omen movie had real shades of it and that felt like as close as you can get

      That purple dress is awful. I usually love anything in that color, and she’s obviously gorgeous, but it doesn’t work on her at all. And he’s just there. I’m sure he’s a very nice guy, but I don’t think he ever has much of a presence.

      Personally I feel like not filming in an actively split and crumbling Berlin of the 1980’s kinda ruins the whole point of the movie.

      Ain’t no way someone looks at this man and say “yes, he’ll be a great fit to Sam Neill’s shoes!”. And the soviet tensions matter too, this already looks too sunny.

      i’ve been begging the void to not have this movie made and then recently i got a little hopeful when margaret’s divorce was announced, but this purple dress is god awful and makes me think the entire movie is going to be a cruel sick joke

      They’re just not going to have the magic that the original had and I’m not sure what the point is of remaking a one of one masterpiece made from the perspective of a man whose art engaged with his background in Soviet Poland. I have respect for the craft but this evokes the idea of simulacra. I want to have deep respect for these people but it’s more akin to a kid trying on their mother’s heels and lipstick than real creation. This is expressly imitation. I don’t see how they could be lauded for what, recreating what doesn’t need to be REcreated? I’d love to see some originality.

      Okaaaay so NOT a remake of the movie based on AS Byatt’s Booker Prize winning novel about two academics researching the secret love affair of two Victorian poets? TIL there is more than one movie called Possession and the movie everyone kept saying Sam Neill was amazing in is quite different to what I had in my head…

      This movie absolutely cannot be remade and it’s honestly kind of insulting that someone would even bother to try.

      Apparently the director is the same guy who made the Smile movies so you know it’s going to be absolute dog shit.

      I really like both of them…but i’m not watching this. I want Callum to do rom-coms. Like hugh grant esque movies.

      I wish i could make things. I’d have Callum, Max irons, and Ben Barnes in a series of nice rom-coms. Very Hugh Grant, Colin Firth.

      That purple dress is both horrible AND in need of a slip. A lining. Something. It’s so lumpy and she’s the furthest thing from that.

      There are certain movies that do not need a remake and this is one of them. While I have no doubts that the two of them will do a phenomenal job – the time period and setting are crucial to the story, on top of absolutely KNOCK out performances that will stand the test of time really should be left alone.
