Basketball player Kyle Kuzma calls Mayor Mamdani:“A mayor playing president” & says “Were raising a generation that learning the reward isn’t in doing the thing it’s in looking like you did the thing. The clip is the career. The pose is the product. The soundbite is the substitute for a life’s work”

Except for the fact aht Mamdani is getting a record number of things done, and calling attention to a war criminal being in your country is not a bad thing

I’m on my third beer of the afternoon and I think I get the jist of what he’s trying to say but after reading it like four times I still dont fully understand it.

Am I missing something or this guy a monumental moron?

      This makes no sense, Kuzma.

Mamdani has done more actual things as Mayor than like any other publicly elected official in a long ass time

    6. Eh, Mamdani has accomplished quite a bit. Comments from a manchild playing sportball aren’t really very important.

    7. but his argument already fell apart Mamdani did get tenant protections, universal childcare, worker restitution etc. what did this guy do besides play shitty basketball and wear a really big ugly sweater.

    8. This ‘BUILDING’ word they’ve all of a sudden seem to be pushing out of the tech/right wing talking points… Stephen Miller just had some crazy conference where he was using the ‘build’ word.. anyway, plz don’t worship athletes (unless they have a strong track record of why they should be praised)

    9. I knew someone on the right would find a way to criticize him but I didn’t think “he’s so good he’s pretending to be good” was actually an option.

    10. Hey New Yorker here.

Mamdani froze my rent not Kyle Kuzma. Idk who the fuck that even is tbh.

Well maybe if the American president could try playing president Mamdani wouldn’t have the same level of international influence

Can I just remind everyone again that when I was in college and working at the housing office, he didn’t want to pay $100 to get his diploma after getting signed to the Lakers.

I still don’t know if he ever graduated from the University of Utah lol

    13. He is now good friends with that “Israeli” basketball player. Looks like he has been coaching him
