I think people need to remember that images are product of a very fine tuned machine. Maybe she aligns with most of the values of her brand, but it would be silly to think that her being pushed as the face of new feminism isn’t part of that machine. It tracks, complete with an obsession with the cure, a Lilith fair revival, and the whole babydoll dresses minus the actual subversion. A lot of it is act and methodically planned strategy. She sings about boys, not about class struggles and taking down AI overlords. She, the person, might be fine with all that. But her record label and brand know kind of messaging what sells today. She would not be the first or the last.
