Eric Roberts—dad to Emma Roberts with ex Kelly Cunningham—spoke out after missing his daughter’s July 25 wedding to Cody John. “I love my daughter, always have, always will,” Eric told Page Six in a July 27 statement. “It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants.” Though he didn’t make an appearance at the ceremony, the intimate nuptials put family front and center as the Wild Child star’s son Rhodes, 5—with whom she shares with ex Garrett Hedlund—was pictured walking his mom down the aisle in another sweet snap shared by the outlet.

Now she is broken
Hollywood will ruin your child.
To the best of general public knowledge, Eric didn’t want to become a father when Emma’s Mom was pregnant, and he also didn’t have much of a presence in her life growing up. His sister — Julia Robert’s, did have a relationship with Emma. So to see him say, “I love my daughter, always have and always will” makes him sound like he was wronged by her, but he is going to rise above it and make a vague general statement to help how the public perceives HIM. Please don’t make him sound like he is father of the year, because that’s not true. However, we should acknowledge that he has least had enough common sense to state the obvious — Emma and Cody get to celebrate their wedding, how they want and with whom they want, and without others that they don’t want.
