      It’s so insane to have witnessed the media circus surrounding Suri Noelle and the Jolie kids’ births or adoptions, and now to be reading articles about them legally dropping their fathers’ last names because their dads turned out to be pieces of shit.

      I remember what a big deal it was when Suri Noelle and Shiloh Jolie were born, both gorgeous babies born to mega celebrity parents just about a month apart. And now with strikingly similar experiences in early adulthood, both choosing to change the very famous surnames they inherited from their now-estranged fathers.

      I feel like if a female actress who’d done what Brad or Tom have done re: their kids, she’d be box office and PR poison. It’s really crazy what people will blithely gloss over when it comes to men!!!

      Love how these deadbeat dads are also typically loved by castmates and friends. Like Simon Pegg & Tom Cruise or George Clooney still being Brad Pitt’s best friend.

      It tracks to my own lived experience where my dad was basically non-existent, but still manage to maintain his personal friends with all his guy friends.

      I personally could never be friends with someone who treats his family and kids the way these men do.

      Celebrities like Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt will continue having successful and long careers in Hollywood but eventually they will become old, fragile men who won’t be surrounded by their children. It’ll probably feel extremely lonely and maybe then they will regret not being an active part of their kids’ lives and missing so many milestones from them. That’s the deadbeat parents’ karma no matter someone’s income bracket.
