The original cast of ‘The Sandlot’ chats with ET’s Denny Directo at San Diego Comin-Con 2026 to reflect on the film’s legacy. Patrick Renna, Marty York, Shane Obedziski, Grant Gelt, Tom Guiry, Brandon Quintin Adams, Chauncey Leopardi and Victor DiMattia share what they remember most about filming the 1993 baseball flick and share what brought them back together, alongside Danielle Fishel, for their new series, ‘Dugout Dads,’ dropping Aug. 26 on YouTube.

I understand Mike Vitar aka Benny the jet Rodriguez is no longer acting but honestly he would add so much to the cast. Even if it was just for one scene.

It was so sweet, I met all of them. They were so cool.
I know that Mike Vitar (Benny The Jet) is an L.A. firefighter now, but was he ever once asked to be in this new project at all? His character led the group of guys in the original film and so the new project in my opinion will be incomplete if he isn't in it. God bless him and the other cast members always!!! Holly in east TN

Here it goes again that Mike Vitar (Benny) isn't there. But Danny Nucci as Benny in "The Sandlot 3" would've been there as Mike Vitar's replacement. With The Sandlot Kids were all grown up in real life. That's very natural ā¾
Dude, what the heck? So sad that Benny does not participate. Itās like the Olsen twins and the new full house. What a disappointment. Is there anybody out there that could talk to him and let him know theyāre all his fans want him to participate?
