Damn. That makes me sad. He was a very talented songwriter and everyone should watch Once.

I met him in Carrboro , NC, had coffee with him, then went to his show after. I’d never heard of him until then (this was back in the early 2000s) and just thought he was one of many musicians who came to perform at the Cat’s Cradle. He was very, very nice and funny. I found out after we parted who he actually was.
Fuck.
Holy shit what a terrible day for music between him and Kavinsky. I absolutely adored Once. I’ll have to rewatch it soon. What a surprising and beautiful movie.

This is such sad news. Once was so important to me and the music brought so much comfort to me during a difficult time. Rest in Peace, your music will be remembered
