Kind of amazing that we now have a studio head directly debunking rumours.
Love that about Gunn.

At this point they’ll have to film three at a time to average one every three years.

This is the same person who said the Flash was one of the best superhero movies ever made and that supergirl had an amazing script.

I don’t think I’ll ever understand why DC didn’t just let Gunn make his Brave and Bold movie in between Reeves’ films.
Ok-Ninja-9174 on
Of course, Reeves needs more time to write 3. He only had 5 or so years to write the second one.
Did people think he was being productive and writing multiple films?

I’m the one person who wasn’t complaining about the long wait between these movies but I’m disappointed they’re not incorporating that time into the story. Apparently the Batman 2 is set only a couple of weeks after the first one, what a waste, if they’re only doing 3 and each one is years apart I’d much rather see the story pick up after a few years each time to see how he’s developed as Batman
Affectionate_Soup461 on
I mean duh, they need 7 years between each film.

I’m very confused by DC’s Batman strategy at this point. I’d assume Gunn would want to jettison these movies asap to make an in-universe Batman to help the DCU along. Batman is the cash cow for DC. I can understand getting the second one done but I’m surprised he’d continue to make these while trying to figure out how to do his own.

Hot take: I liked the Batman a lot but with Pattinsons run of non Batman movies maybe just scrap 3. Do a second one since it’s already on its way, but let’s just get this over with. Taking way too long.

We won’t see The Batman 3 until 2032.

What about Batman 2 and DCU Batman? 😏

The sequel is taking so long to come out I’ve sort of lost interest.

Batman Beyond for Part 3 confirmed!

I think the bigger problem is that The Batman released in 2022 and The Batman Part 2 doesn’t come out until 2028. If they plan a Part 3 and take another 5-6 years it will be a crazy long time for a trilogy

This is so abundantly obvious to anyone paying even the slightest bit of attention to the production of this film.

I guarantee you part 3 is never happening

So we should see part 3 around 2035.

When they film the 2nd and 3rd sequels at the same time, both the movies combined tend to not be as good as the first one.

We are not gonna get a dcu batman are we.

I mean, it’s fine they aren’t filming back to back, but it better not be another 6+ year wait. Studios need to figure their shit out with Movies and Television. The idea there’s no loose plan or storyboarding movie sequels/more seasons while making the first in a franchise is absurd. The fact that a lot of show runners and movie writers/directors have no plans beyond their initial vision is just weird.
I know there’s a lot of moving parts and a lot of money invested in Hollywood, but we used to get yearly shows with 23-episodes a season. Sequels for movies used to be out every other year or so, We’re even getting another Superman film here in the next year or two. Hell, even some Game studios are able to develop entire open worlds, mo-cap and voice act ~40+ hour games for sequels on a nearly bi-annual basis. (Put it this way, we got 4 excellent Arkham Asylum games, 3 made by the same studio, in the same amount of time it’s going to take to release between part 1 and 2)
I’m genuinely surprised a movie franchise with the caliber of Batman has a projected *6 year gap* between its first and second parts (and that may get pushed out further too). Yeah, they did the penguin show in between, but Matt reeves was just kind of overseeing it and wasn’t as hands on as he is here. So why the long wait other than he had no idea where to go next?
Honestly, if Part 3 takes just as long to release as from Part 1 to part 2, I’ll probably just pass on it. I LOVE me some Batman, but it’s hard to care when you wait over 12 years for something like this. Especially for a series so worried about being steeped in “gritty dark realism” that should require way less of a budget and time to make.

Why are we even getting a 3rd when he cant put out a 2nd? Why are we getting a 3rd if he isnt the DCCU Batman? What a shitshow

How can we stop them going ahead with either?
Pattinson is a horrible Batman, just ask Ben.

Reeves has to give up the writing. I didn’t feel like that was his strong suit in the first movie.
