    1. I wonder how terrifying eclipses must have felt like to ancient people who first saw them. did they think gods were eating the sun or something

    2. It was also visible in Germany. Unfortunately I didn’t buy those special glasses in time. šŸ™

One of the most incredible experiences of my life seeing a total eclipse a couple of years ago, very lucky to only have to travel 6 hours, it was also cloudy and rainy that day and it cleared up just in time for the eclipse. So special, if there is even a hint of a chance to see one it is worth trying.

I dream of the next time I’ll see one.

Just saw it and still riding the high. Shocked myself and my kid by bursting into tears 🤣it was incredible and I hope everyone has the chance to see one at some point to get a sense of just how tiny we are in this big ol universe. Now to rest before the meteor shower after midnight ! What a day to be in Spain šŸ’ƒšŸ»

    5. Just home from the 90% version we got in the UK. From that first moment where you see the little nibble taken out of the sun, through to the near-totality and the ominous darkness, it’s just incredible. Transcendent! Worth the fortune in eclipse glasses from scalpers, the gridlocked traffic, the trek across sunbaked landscapes… for my kid to say ā€œthis is boringā€ and do cartwheels instead lol

    6. I saw it in Portugal and it was one of the coolest things Ive ever experiences. I thought it was going to be underwhelming but it was really cool. Also, I wonder how many people fucked up their visions back in the day, cause you do really want to look at it

My husband and I traveled to Spain to see it, caught a ride from Barcelona to the observation point from a guy I met through discord via Reddit and it was 100% worth it. So thankful as the trip was a very last minute decision.

Solar eclipses are so fucking cool and I low key judge people who are party poopers about it. Let’s be excited about the world!! There’s a major meteor shower tonight, btw, if you don’t live near the eclipse but want some cool space stuff to pay attention to!
