‘A Talent for Murder’ follows a mysterious young man from a New York publisher (Alden Ehrenreich), who ventures to Switzerland to persuade renowned author Patricia Highsmith (Helen Mirren) to write one more book in her ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’ series. Olivia Cooke co-stars in ‘A Talent for Murder,’ in theaters on Oct. 23.

Reminds me of a film I saw called Strangers on a Train a while back. Two strangers meet on a train, start talking and come up with this idea for the perfect murder. Basically, one of them suggests they kill each other’s problem person because neither of them has any connection to the other victim, so there’s no obvious motive linking them to the murder. I remember thinking the whole idea was pretty clever. Hollywood has even made adaptions to it include one where the genders are switched
