We’re handing our remembering, and more and more of our thinking, to artificial intelligence.

AI is an amplifier. The tool doesn’t decide which one you are. You do.

The questions are still ours. Less impressed, more involved. Don’t outsource your thinking. Bring it.

I don’t have a problem with the virtual world. I just want to know when I’m in it.

The algorithm can tell us what we want. It takes a human to give us what we didn’t know we needed.

    1. Yes! In my twenties, I’m now 53, I used to love to sit in my living and just think. I would light candles and incense and put on Dido or something like that and just think. Be with my thoughts and I found so much peace and comfort in that. I answered questions. I dreamed. I miss it. I also remember being a child and doing the same thing. I would lay under a tree and stair up at the clouds and have the deepest thoughts. I would think about this one question…where did all of this come from? What was here on the earth before we all came along? The funny thing is, I wasn’t looking for the answer. I just loved thinking about it. 🌲🌈💚🩵🐿️

    2. AI is not that big of a deal, it is just new, and people still don't know how to use it properly so they are going all in. This is called the initial absorption phase, where all humans will just tinker with it for about 2 years till human will completley STOP creating any new original input – Then you will have phase 2 – the canny cloning phase – where due to no more human inputs and now allt he intel is circulating humans will all be the same and feel the same and nothing at all will feel original – then the most important final phase PHASE 3 – the REINSANCE – this is where a NEW LEVEL OF CREATIVITY and innovation will occur using A.I where humans will nwo be FORCED to find new creativity and new ways to use it and just like that we go back to creativity. This cycle happens with anything – So everybody jus please calm urselves down –

    3. Искусственный интеллект это демонстрационный интерактивный РобоПровокатор из другой жизни, 🫩 без этой жизни…это иллюзия и потеря реального контроля

    4. all technology has the capacity to liberate and to oppress. it is a tool like any other. in the United States, Christianity was used relentlessly to justify chattel slavery and by slaves to liberate themselves from it. it always comes down to how it is used

    5. As someone who worked on Candy Crush like games, yes that is exactly how they getcha 😂 but I hope the levels I designed were at least a fun ride along the way

    6. Artificial Intelligence is like a Dumb Dog…… just sits there wagging and panting at everything you say hoping for attention, but nothing genuinely useful to contribute

    7. ИИ это инструмент, как интернет и всё тому подобное, но чат с ботом который постоянно говорит что ты прав, похож на наркотик, в итоге человек который ничего не собирается делать в этой жизни, может раздуть своё ЧСВ до невменяемых размеров!

    8. As usual, I feel better about what is going on around me in this crazy world after I've checked in with you on Fridays, MacConaughey. Today, it is because we share the same thoughts on AI and how it is affecting our world, our thought processes, relationships, etc. NOT because Matthew McConaughey feels similarly, nope. It is comforting to know that another human being is actually thinking about how to continue thinking. Thanks my friend. Your words are, as usual, appreciated.

    9. welll said, I love how people are beginning to realise the cons of AI. You see that candy crush bit, that was what made delete the game, it starts off very simple and easy then overtime gets unecessarily difficult to scale, just deleted the sh!t, I don't have to spend that effort on a "game"

    10. As much as I love the way his idea is presented, there are bigger issues with AI that this video was lacking, namely the alarming rate at which it eats up crucial Human Resources like drinking water. Not a fan of this one, Matthew.

    11. How often do we not ask questions to friends, family, therapists… search for consult from people in our network that are biased with their own agenda and predispositions?

People who outsource their thinking were doing so long before they had access to LLM's. And often outsourcing their thinking to people who truly weren't very good at asking critical questions to guide one to a better answer.

As someone who has deep training in consultancy, it's astonishing how bad people are at the craft. AI is the better option more often than not when searching for answers. Friends and family bring neglect, pettiness, self-preservation, anger, exhaustion, disregard, lack of knowledge and millions of other variables that affect their ability to give helpful advice.

    12. I think this sounds better than it is true – a lot of times the algorithm has recommended videos I didn't know I needed, that I thoroughly enjoyed. But the point stands with authentic human connection – and that is irreplaceable. It can, however, be amplified by the right kind of content – finding communities online that you otherwise wouldn't have otherwise been able to connect with.
