I couldn’t agree with you more on the necessity of surrounding yourself with only TRUE friends, people who wish nothing but the best for you. I’ve had to learn the hard way, far too many times, trying to follow my heart, attempting to bring people up while they only wanted to tear me down. It’s essentially “throwing your pearls to the swine.” (Bible quote, kinda, I’m paraphrasing) You’re not helping anyone by giving any part of yourself, your life to “mean girls.”
At the same time, we’ve all seen how the media (and groups of people anywhere and everywhere) can easily manipulate the perceived reality of people and situations often end up appearing to be the opposite of the truth. Most people just go along with popular opinion and are quick to believe lies about others. So it’s a bit sad when I see friends ditch friends based on how they make them appear by association.
I thought I saw a glimpse of compassion towards Hailey from Kylie in the video clip. I have no doubt that every one of them have a mean girl streak! (I know that much of what Hailey did is verified, I’m just speaking from a wider perspective more than personally or specifically about Hailey)
However they’re all still young, like everyone else, they have a good side and not so nice side and are learning which to choose. This entire group has been raised to be competitive. It’s a toxic circle no doubt. It’s also sad that the reality for them is that no matter what they feel might be the right thing to do in their heart? They have to make social decisions based on the effect their associations could have on their fame and wealth, rather than what’s healthy for their mental state. I imagine it could be a thin line to toe.
Mean girls are like thieves – they may do a job together but secretly none trusts the other. You know as quickly as they attach others they can turn on you. Better to have a select few and true friends
