In regards to the selina gomez thing. People have terrible facial recognition. I work in a slots machine place, when I got glasses, customers who I had been interacting with for 10 years suddenly were asking if I was new and where "Mark"(ME), was.
I told a woman who I had been chatting with just a week prior to getting my glasses that Mark was fired because they caught him trying to burn the place down. She just goes "Oh my God! He was so nice." And walked away looking shocked.
All I did was get a pair of small black glasses.

With Selena in particular, we know she has a very serious disease. I believe that as tempting as it is to notice, should be left alone. With others I don't see it necessarily as a negative, but I will say I don't like the societal pressure still. The pressure to live up to people who may have surgery or even just makeup is nearly impossible to live up to. Then for the people who have surgery, I hope they did it for themselves and not industry pressure to reach or maintain heights of beauty.

The church scandal is pretty dumb. The Church used to be a patron and friend to the arts. There can be less than ideal art, but this hardly seems as sinful as some famous sculptures. By taking a stance against a music video, they just risk further irrelevance as they fail to connect with the people. It'd be a completely different message if the priest themselves started the scandal as well as the priest was doing what he thought was best. Meanwhile it seems like the official view is the church can only be used for approved activities. Then they wonder why churches fail to have money and get closed down.

On the Miner's story; they risked their lives, almost paid the ultimate proce, and get $1,200. The key takeaway here is not "That's actually 6 months wages where they are from"; the takeaway should be "they are not being paid enough to almost die!"
We live in a world, where if you are a celebrity there are some things you don't get to have. 1) an opinion, because it's always the wrong one. 2) privacy, because how dare you think you deserve that right. 3) just living a normal life as they must be shamed for existing in any way shape or form, because f*** them. It is beyond asinine that this is how the general public treats "icons" "idols" and "role models" just because they exist in the spot light. My mom has been a mail delivery worker for the USPS for 15+ years. She delivers on a rural route using her personal vehicle. Every holiday season she tells me how inundated with amazon packages the post office gets. She'll make multiple trips a day back to the post office to refill her vehicle with packages stacked as high as she can and work until after dark to get them all out, and she's dealing with preparing for her own holidays on top of that. She can't even enjoy those holiday days off because she knows that the next day is going to be a huge backlog of packages that she'll have to work double to get out. She has three different vehicles that my dad constantly has to work on because the miles are wearing them out so fast. It kills me that she has to work this hard for such little pay so that people can get their fancy toys delivered in 48 hours, and it just gets worse every year.
We need to stop shaming people for plastic surgery. Period. I’m trans and gender affirming plastic surgery has saved my life. I have a friend who is getting plastic surgery for anti-aging and the same friends who were so overjoyed for me, aren’t safe people to talk to for her. They mock people whose faces barely move, make fun of lip filler, etc; often saying this about “problematic people” but of course it indicates thoughts they had before they were “justified” to say them. It’s a shame because, much like how I was, my friend thinks about this surgery every day and feels a lot of discomfort around her appearance. Unfortunately, unlike me, she will go into surgery having told almost no one and having to hide it from many friends to avoid being mocked or looked down on.
People are insecure in their bodies- trans and cis- if there’s a surgery that lets them feel more confident about themselves, who are you to judge?

FedEx called it fantastical. UPS said, " It's our duty to prop them up." This was the belief of UPS back in 2015. The thought was that if amazon succeeded ahead of us, We were doing a good job.
Probably why fedex never got ahead of us (UPS).
As far as Amazon's packages are concerned, I know one of the problems is that they let you select the option of having all of the things you've bought on your "Prime Day" and then send multiple packages anyways… I've contacted Amazon about this more than once, as well as their people package expensive electronics in plastic bags OR boxes with no bubble wrap/cushion inside. They're sadly the cheapest place for me to buy from (a disabled combat veteran living off of disability) and I wish I was able to afford to shop somewhere else so I don't have to give them my money. Certain things Amazon has that I can't get anywhere else due to living in a small town and limited income. I hate it but there's nothing else I can do about that. Trust me, I've looked.

Amazon also uses ups to send its returns back to them as well. I knew about the usps, but most returns with amazon prime get sent thru either ups stores, amazon pick up locations, or stores like kohls. The easiest is always the UPS store as it doesnt require a shipping label or repackaging of the product. I wonder if up included those return shipments for amazon in their amount.
I believe Rural Carriers are categorized as contractors vs the standard USPS employees, so their rights and benefits are subject to more "flexibility"
