Jaby and Kristen react to Pitch Perfect, a musical comedy film directed by Jason Moore (Sisters, Avenue Q, Dumplin’). The story revolves around Beca Mitchell, played by Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air, Into the Woods, A Simple Favor), a college freshman who joins an a cappella group called the Barden Bellas. Alongside her fellow singers, including Chloe Beale, played by Brittany Snow (Hairspray, John Tucker Must Die, Prom Night), and Fat Amy, played by Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids, Isn’t It Romantic, The Hustle), Beca navigates the challenges of competitive a cappella while forming lasting friendships.
The film is directed by Jason Moore (Sisters, Avenue Q, Dumplin’), and also stars Skylar Astin (21 & Over, Ground Floor, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist), Adam DeVine (Workaholics, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Intern), and Anna Camp (True Blood, The Help, Good Girls Revolt).

This is definitely a "guilty pleasure" film for me. If I ever run across it I have to watch it. Which is weird because I would never go near acapella in real life.

UTK, who was the Indian Guy on the TrebleTones, was also a member of Freestyle Love Supreme, the improv hip hop group founded by Lin-Manuel Miranda and also included Lin-Manuel’s “Hamilton” co-stars Daveed Diggs and Christopher Jackson, so this role was pretty much tailor-made for him, I think!
And yes, as someone else mentioned, the blood of the sisters that the Bellas had to drink was Boones Farm, a cheap fruit flavored wine that was a staple of college parties in the 80’s and 90’s – effective and VERY affordable 😂🤣
Pitch Perfect 2 was bleh, but 3 is just as awesome as 1…. but Fat Amy is the antagonist…

I felt the same way going to this.Then i watched it. Very surprised. This is a good one.
The boys "secret weapon" at the end, the nerdy Star Wars guy, was played by Ben Platt, so you know he was going to sing something great at some point. He only was the star of DEAR EVAN HANSON on Broadway!
And you do know there are two sequels to this movie, PITCH PERFECT 2 and PITCH PERFECT 3?!?!?! This first one is the best, IMO, but the others are enjoyable also.

There's something heartwarming about hearing Jaby genuinely laugh. Also Kristen is adorable.
The Trilogy is surprisingly good…
Jaby…You ain't wrong! This film, with the others, has a definite fandom theory that Beca (Anna Kendrick) and Chloe (Brittany Snow) are actually supposed to be together aka Bechloe. There was even some fuel to the fire when both Anna and Brittany filmed a scene in PP3 that was not used, even though Anna fought for it to be included in the DVD release. There is quite a bit of slash fiction about them out there.
Also, Benji is played by Ben Platt, who won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2016 for the musical Dear Evan Hansen. It had a score by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who also worked on the musical films La La Land and The Greatest Showman. Platt reprised his role in the film of Dear Evan Hansen, even though he was thought to have been too old to do the role on film, and the film was not well received. When Platt won the Tony, he was the youngest performer to win that award at the time.

I'm so disappointed with the editing of this video, they cut many of the important parts in the reaction (ex-the bellas singing just the way you are and beca singing the rumpshakers' song) and instead kept the boring ones🤷

BRUH…Jaby…I was the same way. I had ZERO want to watch this movie. The only reason I did was because my Apartment was being fumigated and I needed something to do. So I saw Pitch Perfect and I was So Glad I Did! Haha! I love this movie! It's so fun. Even after seeing this movie so many times, I still couldn't help but sing along even thru this reaction. So glad y'all watched this
