Today we’re talking about Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia. I thought it would be a fun little pregame to get us ready for Radical Optimism next month. We’ll talk about her singles, like Physical, Don’t Start Now, and the smash hit, Levitating. We’ll also talk about the videos from that era, be it the Illusion heavy Break My Heart, or the rodeo-themed Love Again. We’ll also talk about some other exciting additions to this era, like Club Future Nostalgia, the Remix album, and Studio 2052, Dua’s televized concert during lockdown.

  1. before i even watch the video, i feel disappointed in her new era and i needed to revisit the fn era so bad

  2. the fever remix is so good honestly a hit for every season. also my warped perception thanks to covid of time really just let me not realize how long this era spanned like that's crazy and also really refreshing

  3. I was not a big fan of her in early years of her career but i really like her now. Future nostalgia is just soooooo good. I love the álbum. I think she had a great evolution.

  4. Future nostalgia ate. I was obsessed it filled my top songs that year and levitating was number one for me two years in a row. This new era isn’t giving the same way 😢

  5. sometimes I wonder if "If It Ain't Me" would've been popular if the version with the Normani feature had been released and then I get sad because it could've done so well. If It Ain't Me is one of the best songs from the Future Nostalgia era, so it's a shame it didn't get more popular

  6. There’s no one right now who could serve an era that would last a year+ the way Future Nostalgia did. Dua was the right person at the right moment in time with the right team and the right music.

  7. Dua lipa had a lot to prove during this era here’s a list
    -beating the one album wonder
-breaking the best new artist curse
-managing to keep her head up after this album getting leaked
-and ofcourse improving her stage presence
Miss Dula Peep really outdid herself.

  8. Great video as usual! "Future Nostalgia" is everything you could hope for a good pop album era. And as for Dua Lipa's next era… I think people need to stop with the "flop" accusations. All of the singles have been doing consistently well; even Dua herself has noted that a lot of her songs end up becoming sleeper hits and she says she prefers that over having songs quickly blow up and then disappear quickly. I can see why some don't like them compared to "Future Nostalgia" but I enjoy them; I can't wait to hear how they will come together when the album drops. I can't also wait for more promotional performances and music reviews. And even if she doesn't conquer the US again, she still does very well in other markers such as Europe, Asia and Latin America. All this to say is… people need to chill and let the era just happen lol

  9. this video makes me realize how little bad songs dua has. even now with these songs she's given us, she's really shown how good her music can be AND is. future nostalgia was def my fav music moment of the start of this decade bc of how fun the music and rollout both were!!

  10. Her singles beforehand were nice and catchy for the times they came out but didn't have staying power.. this is really the album that made her a POP GIRL. she has a great team behind her, studio 2054 really put me flat in the floor when I saw it for the first time

  11. I loved this album so much when it first came out. I spent a lot of time in my car during the pandemic – just hanging out in my car, I’ve kinda always liked to and it feels peaceful to me – and I was obsessed with every song. Still love it, it’s so great. 🔥

  12. Off topic. I'm so sorry but, I just left a comment on your unpopular opinions post not even realizing I am 6 days late.

If you haven't already recorded that video I would absolutely love it if you included my unpopular opinion.
I'm gonna get back to this video now! ❤ Enjoy the rest of your beautiful day!

  13. i loved that dua embraced fun pop music in a time where every artist wanted to be more "serious and different", amazing video for an iconic era ❤

ps: i hope you do one for "emails i can't send" in the future 😍

  14. Great video as per! Everything about this era was executed exceptionally well, her commitment to this era, the visuals, the sound, the cohesion really set Dua Lipa apart. Especially given that she had to adapt to lockdown and couldn't do traditional promotion or tour for so long. This record was like the perfect escape from all the drama in the world at the time though, like she wasn't going to let a pandemic stop her and that really gained my respect of due as an artist. Physical was my most listened to song that year, the synth production is unworldly and flawless.

  15. I will forever be pissed off that “If It Ain’t Me” with Dua and Normani didn’t come out😭 that would have been another MASSIVE hit for both of them

  16. FN solidified me a dua lapeep fan…. i wish she made pretty please a single. i feel just like doja's streets song, this was the sleeper hit. definitely wuda been a easy top 10 at very least top 20. everytime i hear it it sounds like a single. at least a promo release. i was hoping it went viral on tiktok or something. but overall its a good album and hallucinate is underrated

  17. I feel like it was the last great era for any genre. The last era that feels like era and very consistent throughout the whole time. I know people be mentioning other eras like Sos, Midnights or others. But all of them did not feel that long and impactful as much as the previous eras in 2010s.

  18. I love that she slowly "teased" this era with One Kiss and Electricity. Both songs are very different from her previous works and also dancey just like Future Nostalgia.
