our version of breakfast and Tiffany’s
production is based totally on the Nolla
by Trum motti this has gone back to the
book is its Total Source it’s very
exciting to have Amelia Clark play Holly
go because in in fact this is going to
be her stage debut the screenplay that
we’ve got written by Richard Greenberg
is is so much more true to the book and
so much roarer and kind of it just has
as much heart but a lot of kind of like
feistiness there’s a richness to Holly
that I think comes across even more in
this script than it does in the film I
think J Holly in the book is 19 years
old and I said you know if only I could
find a really young actress to play it
and here I’ve got somebody who’s a young
actress who’s known for Game of Thrones
but not known for being on a Broadway
stage and it’s wonderful for someone to
make a debut on Broadway in such a
fantastic part and to have the talent to
back it up so I’m a great fan of hers
anyone from anywhere can come to New
York City and create a Persona who they
want to be and there’s that freedom
there that even in that time that was a
little more restricted for women existed
we know it was a time when fabric was
rationed clothes were cut in very kind
of interesting ways because people had
less fabric to do it so there wasn’t a
lot of waste and there wasn’t sort of a
late extravagance of the new look which
came at the end of the’ 40s which if is
absolutely a stunning look but it’s a
more kind of restrained sort of classic
look it’s got the shoulders that we all
love and the nipin waist and sort of the
flirty little skirt and great kind of
little platform shoes so I see it as
very feminine period
