Written by Diablo Cody and directed by Zelda Williams. This movie is perfection to me. It feels like I’m watching goth Barbie + Edward Scissorhands + Heathers. It’s currently streaming on Peacock. I’m hoping word of mouth will carry this film into cult classic status.

I thought it was super fun! Loved the whole visual look of the film and I listened to the soundtrack on repeat for a few days after watching. My only complaint is that the plot didn’t hang together 100 percent, but does it really matter? It’s a fun date or friends night out movie. I heard it was cut from R to PG-13, which is interesting and probably where some plot holes came from.
It wasn’t a perfect movie for me but it was a lot of fun and a nice break from all the Netflix/Prime high school dramas that all kind of look, sound, and feel the same. Definitely one of those movies to point to when people complain nothing interesting and original comes out anymore (which I don’t agree with, there’s a decent amount of it but the complainers just let it flop).
