the internet has been talking about Taylor Swift and Billy eyh a lot in the last 24 hours there’s been conversations surrounding whether or not Billy supports Taylor and also talks of if Taylor is trying to sell more variants of her new album The Torture poets Department in order to stay on the top of her charts and beat out Billy since selling more copies increases where you are the two of them are currently challenging for the top spot on the billboard album charts with their latest records the tortured poets department and hit me hard and soft and people believe that things have gotten quite Petty as they compete for number one now I’m simply just here to tell you guys what’s spread around online what’s come out from people close to them interviews and then you can judge the situation for yourself conversations surrounding whether or not Billy and Taylor were on good terms started back in March as Billy and her mom did an interview with billboard where they talked about how wasteful it is for artists to come out with multiple variants of their albums just to try and chart Billy said we live in this day and age where for some reason it’s very important to some artists to make all sorts of different vinyl and packaging which UPS the sales and UPS the numbers and gets them more money and gets them more her mom said well it counts towards number one albums Billy says I can’t even express to you how wasteful it is it is right in front of our faces and people are just getting away with it left and right and I find it really frustrating as somebody who really goes out of my way to be sustainable and do the best that I can and try to involve everybody in my team in being sustainable and then it’s some of the biggest artists in the world making effing 40 different vinyl packaging that have a different unique thing just to get you to keep buying more it’s so wasteful and irritating to me that we’re still at a point where you care that much about your numbers and you care that much about making money and it’s all your favorite artists doing that people felt that she was shading Taylor since she’s come out with several different variants of her albums before selling vinyls and CDs that all include a different extra song on each one but at the time people also did call Out Billy for having done the same thing with her happier than ever album with all the different versions that she sold Billy denied shading Taylor and posted to her Instagram at the time saying okay so it would be awesome if people would stop putting words into my mouth and actually read what I said in that billboard article I wasn’t singling anyone out these are industrywide systematic issues and when it comes to Varian so many artists release them including me which I clearly state in the article the climate crisis is now and it’s about all of us being part of the problem and trying to do better sheesh though Billy claimed she wasn’t talking about anyone specific people still felt it was shady towards Taylor and this week There’s been several more times where people have accused Billy of shating her and it doesn’t help that swifties were about to uncover several tweets from Billy’s manager who hasn’t had the best things to tweet about Taylor in a now deleted tweet from back in 2014 during the Grammys he had tweeted please sit down Taylor Swift it’s not about you and you don’t know this song # Millennials and this week he was said to be liking tweets about Taylor trying to ruin other artists chances of being number one by selling new variants of her album he was also seen allegedly retweeting tweets like this one that says Taylor Swift breaking her neck doing everything to prevent other artists from shining noting that in June of 2017 she put her entire discography on Spotify when Katy Perry’s album came out and that in January of last year she dropped new album versions of midnights to block siza as Si’s album was predicted to be a number one for a fourth week and then claiming that Taylor dropped new digital versions to block Billy as her new album hit me hard and soft has just come out now the new digital versions that this tweet was referencing are the three new versions that Taylor dropped that include a voice memo of the first draft of three different songs and clearly if her manager is retweeting this he fullon believes that she purposely put this out there to block Billy from being a potential number one on the charts and I’m sure if this is his feelings about that he certainly hated seeing that she released three new variants that included a live recording of several songs that she performed at the AAS tour in Paris recently and people really felt like this one was her trying to block Billy’s album from reaching number one though this is something that every artist seems to do in order to reach or stay number one on the charts or just try it all Billy and her team have also been trying to do this releasing different variants as the other day she announced that for a limited time she was going to be releasing two new digital versions of her album a sped up version and also a slow and Reverb version there was also another version sold that included all isolated vocals which I’ll say once again that this is what artists do and what Billy has brought up in the billboard article from March that this is how you chart they aren’t the only ones that are doing this and they’re not the last people to be doing this this is normal but a lot of people are just feeling like these moves are shady from Taylor and clearly Billy’s team is agreeing now some have gotten back to what Billy said though and felt like she was being hypocritical with the way that she talked about artists coming out with tons of versions just to chart when she’s out here doing the same but the thing is when it comes to that interview she was specifically talking about wastefulness and these versions coming out are digital from her so there’s no packaging involved no plastic and that’s really what she was being so critical of in that interview when artists are mass producing multiple different versions using vinyl and all this stuff so Billy putting out digital variance isn’t going against what she was trying to say but what really had people feeling like they had confirmation that there was some sort of beef between them or that Billy didn’t like Taylor was the fact that Billy had done a radio interview with station head where she talked about this idea of doing a 3our show and she didn’t have the best things to say feeling like fans didn’t want that and she wouldn’t want to watch an artist perform for 3 hours saying it’s literally psychotic I’m not doing a three-hour show that’s literally psychotic nobody wants that you guys don’t want that I would don’t want that you know what I’m saying I don’t even want that as a fan my favorite artist in the world I’m not trying to hear them for 3 hours you know what I mean it’s far too long no you don’t want that I promise to God you don’t now with the AAS tour being 3 hours this already swirling rumor that Billy might have previously shaded Taylor Just Amplified fans came to Taylor’s defense on Twitter making note that although Billy might not think people want a three-hour show there clearly are Taylor Swift fans who are wanting to see her show even if they’re standing outside of the venue and now Beyonce fans have entered the chat because she’s also putting on a three-hour show for her fans one user said this is just so disrespectful to Taylor and Beyonce who literally put everything into their tours they are artists who love their job love performing but somehow that’s psychotic but someone else was quick to bring up the past when Billy had previously praised the two artists calling them Untouchable Superstars and this was last October that she had said this to the LA Times she said I find it really hard to play stadiums iish said Beyonce and Taylor Swift are Untouchable Superstars the fact that they can put on a show that long and it’s filled with so many incredible moments is really amazing I don’t want anyone to think I’m ungrateful about playing stadiums but when you go to one there’s nothing in you that thinks that the artist knows know you’re there I want the crowd to know I am seeing them with my own eyes despite this previous praise people believe the two really are beefing for number one right now and there’s some other small moments from this week that had people wondering if shade was being thrown like when Kim Kardashian posted that she’d received Billy ish’s merch and we all know that Taylor and Kim are enemies but Billy posted this on her story and Taylor fans think that Billy threw some more possible shade towards Taylor during her Zan low interview when she criticized her previous album for having 16 songs Billy talked about how nobody needs that many songs which with the way Taylor’s album has 31 songs people were wondering if she meant some shade here but if you actually listen to what Billy and Phineas are saying in the full interview they’re talking about her old album compared to the new album and it doesn’t seem as shady as when it’s written out in text like it has been going around on Twitter we’d work on something for one day and I’d be like smashed it done and I think that that’s like again it’s like yeah I would tell people not to overthink stuff but I don’t think that’s not overthinking and I think it was a kind of a smelling right yeah yeah just sort of feeling really full of yourself or cocky which I think was it can be fine again it’s totally fine it’s just that I think for that one we didn’t we just didn’t put that much into it push ourselves in a way that’s why there’s like 16 many that many songs now people noted that Taylor might have tried to combat Billy’s billboard article from March when she released a new version of her song fortnite this week featuring blondish an extra remix helps boost chart position and counts towards overall sales some believe it was a strategic move to have the song remixed with blondish as she’s an environmental activist along with being an artist and she founded a nonprofit charity called bye-bye Plastics to eliminate single- use Plastics in music venues and events and so this might have been quite the move from Taylor the whole situation is such a mess with fans defending their favorites and waiting to see what happens when the numbers roll in it’ll be interesting to see what
