      I agree with your sentiments Perez! When I first heard Ariana was casted, I definitely was skeptical of her acting capability for that role. We know she can sing her ass off, but acting next to Cynthia?? Idk about that.

      The same thought.. Amanda is old news when it comes to movie musicals… Ariana was a fresh face as a movie lead, and has a tremendous musical fan base, a no-brainer to cast her.. I agree.. Ari was kinda flat as Glinda, but it was made obvious when paired with Cynthia..

      The opinions of Wicked are wild

      Some people think Cynthia was bland 😂and Ariana was the best part of the film

      Glinda starting off more fragile is a great starting point
      For who she becomes later

      Thats the advantage of the film being two parts

      Characters develop and grow
      Glinda changing
      Will make her more impactful in the sequel which will focus on the older versions of the characters

      i think there is A LOT more to see from both of them in the next movie. the first movie was very world establishing, now we are gonna see the flexing i think in part 2

      i want to add, i say that not as an ari stan, i think amanda would have done incredible, i do think aris heart was is in the right place to be Glinda though.

      As talented s Ariana is , why can’t I tolerate her as Glinda? It just bugs me. She so vocally talented but I can’t get past my overall impressions of her. I would’ve loved Amanda

      Ariana Grande was probably going for "old school" Glinda, like from the 1939 "Wizard Of Oz" movie. Obviously, for her singing vocals, you can't do much better than Ariana. That was likely a key-reason she won the role.
