After the roof of a popular Dominican Republic nightclub collapsed during merengue singer Rubby Pérez’s set, at least 44 are dead and 146 are injured, police shared. Director of emergency management operations Juan Manuel Méndez said in Spanish during a press conference hours after the incident, “We presume that many of them are still alive.
