The movie is Bridge to Terabithia (2007). It's as heartbreaking as the book and Josh Hutcherson is amazing in it.

For some reason, my high school decided this would be the perfect movie to take my entire grade eight cohort to.

Trying to corrall a hundred *violently* sobbing thirteen year old girls out of the cinema and onto the buses was *not* an easy task. I think the teachers ended up just as traumatised as the rest of us.

The first book that ever made me cry! My son and I watched the movie a few months ago and it was the first movie to make him cry! 😭❤️

    3. This book caused deep emotional trauma when I read it as a child, but I could not put the book down. I don’t even remember the plot, just that I was sobbing at the ending.

    4. This book was assigned reading in my elementary school way back in the day*. The trauma started early.

*The day was in the 80s, which was only 20 years ago. The 90s were only 10 years ago. I’m not old and losing my mind from the trauma, I swear!

The commercials for this movie made it seem like it was going to be the next Chronicles of Narnia.

      **Narrator’s voice:** *It was not.*

As an old I think this is the first movie to make me cry. I definitely cried at My Girl, but this is the one I get chocked up with the gif.

    7. The movie is after my time but they made us read this book in about fifth grade- SADISTS.
