The Princess of Wales, often hailed as the most stylish member of the Royal Family, experienced a common fashion predicament this week, according to a lip reader.
Kate, looking as chic as ever, was dressed in a burgundy Emilia Wickstead dress and matching Jane Taylor hat, completed with a feather brooch and her signature radiant smile.
As she approached President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, few observers would have noticed anything out of place.
However, a lip reader detected that the mum-of-three was having difficulty with her heels while trying to walk gracefully across the grass.
Lip reader Nicola J Hickling said that she believes Kate, 43, said “My heels are sinking” as she and husband Prince William strolled across the Windsor Castle lawn, reports the Mirror.
While many of us have undoubtedly faced this kind of uncomfortable and potentially embarrassing situation, few have done so under the scrutiny of the global gaze.

Showing concern for his wife, William kindly asked, “Are you okay though?”. Thankfully, Kate maintained her elegant composure, and it’s understood their meeting with the Trumps went smoothly.
Yesterday, Kensington Palace released a statement confirming that William, Kate, and the Trumps enjoyed a “warm and friendly” encounter within Windsor Castle’s walls.
The Palace has kept tight-lipped about the specific topics discussed between the two couples.
Royal watchers were taken aback to witness First Lady Melania displaying a rare grin whilst greeting her longtime ‘pen pal’, King Charles.
Known for keeping her emotions under wraps, Melania could be spotted radiating joy as she was reunited with Charles.

In her 2024 autobiography, the mother-of-one disclosed how she discovered surprising shared interests with Charles during their first encounter in New York back in 2005.
The duo are believed to sustain their friendship through traditional written letters, connecting over their mutual love of architecture, horticulture, and creative arts.
As detailed in her memoir, Melania maintains an “ongoing correspondence with King Charles III”, explaining that she and her spouse “exchange letters” with the monarch “to this day”.
Their mutual passion for environmental causes allegedly strengthened their bond during the Trumps’ 2019 official visit to Britain.
The Slovenia-born First Lady wrote: “The evening’s state banquet was a formal and elegant affair.
“I was seated next to Charles, and it was an absolute pleasure to reconnect with him. Our paths had crossed many years ago in New York City. This time, we engaged in an interesting conversation about his deep-rooted commitment to environmental conservation.”
At tonight’s dazzling state banquet, both King Charles and President Trump are expected to deliver brief speeches following a hectic first day of the state visit.
