Friday the 13th movie celebration at Blairstown Diner in NJ
The Blairstown Diner, known for appearing in the original Friday the 13th film, celebrates the spooky holiday the movie is named after.
North Jersey has experienced its fair share of celebrities this year.
The region always has a good amount of big names at MetLife Stadium and Prudential Center, but its increased popularity as a filming location has brought in even more stars.
Actors were seen filming in North Jersey but also out and about at local restaurants or in some cases, playing basketball.

Sydney Sweeney in North Jersey
Sydney Sweeney spent some time in North Jersey earlier this year to film “The Housemaid.” The trailer for the movie just dropped as well.
The crew took over a house in Madison for filming and Sweeney was spotted at Fredy’s Table in Morristown. Other filming locations included Ridgewood and Clifton.
“The Housemaid,” also starring Amanda Seyfried and NJ’s Brandon Sklenar, will hit theaters Dec. 19.
Adam Sandler in New Jersey
Sandler quickly became a New Jersey celebrity. “Happy Gilmore 2” filmed a lot in North Jersey and Sandler took the time to take photos with people along the way.
Sandler also went viral on TikTok while playing pickup basketball in Montclair.
“Happy Gilmore 2” filming took place in Morris, Bergen, Essex, Somerset and Monmouth counties through November.
Jonas Brothers in New Jersey
As North Jersey natives, the Jonas Brothers have a lot of reasons to be in the area. It was especially true in 2025 as they played MetLife and made the New Jersey Hall of Fame.
Sometimes it’s the quieter moments, though, that stand out. That was the case when the brothers stopped by Rita’s in Nutley, and also when just Kevin took photos with people at Sparta Classic Diner.
Robert De Niro in New Jersey
Robert De Niro was in Paterson in May to film “The Whisper Man.” He posed with Mayor Andre Sayegh while in town.
‘Friday the 13th’ prequel in New Jersey
“Crystal Lake,” the prequel series to “Friday the 13th” filmed around New Jersey over the summer. The film crew took over part of Hawthorne in August and an eagle-eyed fan spotted Linda Cardellini during the shoot.
Boonton, Roseland and Clifton were among the other local filming spots.
