Prince Harry is said to be edging towards a public reconciliation with King Charles.
The 40 year old Royal ended his 19-month separation from the cancer-stricken monarch, 76, by holding a 54-minute discussion with him over tea during his recent trip to Britain, and senior courtiers have now revealed that tentative arrangements are being formulated for the duo to make a joint public appearance for the first time since 2019.
A source told the Daily Mail: “Harry’s visit to the UK was not about trying to show up or compete with his brother – in fact, the opposite.

“It was to remind William that Harry can be there to take some of the load off, given some of the criticism William has received for carrying out a lower number of engagements than his father.
“That doesn’t need to be as part of the ‘working’ Royal Family. It can just be doing what he loves to do and does best – supporting causes close to them both, such as the Diana Award and conservation.
“More than anything, though, he wants to see his father more. He wants to make him proud and be there to support him through his treatment.”

The final occasion Harry and Charles were spotted alone and beaming alongside each other was at the Our Planet global premiere at London’s Natural History Museum in April 2019.
Following Harry’s choice to withdraw from Royal responsibilities in 2020, they have only been photographed together at the funerals of Prince Philip in 2021 and Queen Elizabeth in 2022. This comes after a 54-minute private meeting at Clarence House earlier this month between Harry and Charles, marking the first time the father and son had met face to face in 19 months.
Charles is currently undergoing cancer treatment.
Insiders close to the discussions suggest that Harry’s wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 44, and their children Archie, six, and Lilibet, four, would also be included in any wider move to reintegrate the family into the Royal fold.
Harry is reported by sources to have agreed to keep a low profile during Donald Trump’s recent UK visit as a gesture of goodwill towards his father.
He is also said to have indicated his willingness to participate in some public events in Britain – albeit not formally as a working Royal – and is “hopeful” of rebuilding a relationship with Prince William, 43, despite their estrangement since 2020.
On a subsequent trip to Kyiv, when questioned about his meeting with Charles, Harry stated: “The focus really has to be on my dad.”
Royal biographer Tina Brown, 70, suggested that Charles had become “less irritated” with Harry than with William, amid rumours of escalating tension between the King and his heir over workload and public perception.
Both Buckingham Palace and the Duke of Sussex’s spokesperson have declined to comment.
