Meghan Markle received a lot of criticism when she briefly flew to Paris earlier this month. Not only did she come under fire for attending Balenciaga’s show during Paris Fashion Week due to the controversy the brand has faced over the past few years, but the outfit she wore on the FROW was also widely mocked.

And that’s not all, as she also faced intense backlash for posting a video of herself with her feet up on the seat in a car driving close to the Pont d’Alma tunnel; i.e., the spot of the late Princess Diana‘s fatal car crash. But Prince Harry seemingly isn’t offended by it. But he is offended by the backlash his wife is receiving…

Prince Harry Was ‘Hurt’ And ‘Upset’ Over Meghan Markle Instagram Story Backlash

According to reports, the Spare author, 41, believes the reaction to the video that was shared on Meghan’s Instagram Story was an unfortunate coincidence and doesn’t think the backlash is fair. In fact, he’s said to be “hurt” by the suggestion that Meghan would deliberately do something like that.

Insiders, said to be friends of the Duke of Sussex, reportedly told The Daily Mail that it was a “hell of a stretch” to say Meghan purposefully drove past the location and shared the video to cause offense. “Harry was left hurt and upset. Diana’s death was used as a stick to beat his wife with,” the insider shared.

“[Meghan] did not even pass close to the tunnel. The whole thing is a joke, but not a very funny one for Harry,” they continued, adding: “He was left feeling hurt, but the depressing thing is he wasn’t even that surprised. He was more despondent than shocked.”

Social Media Reactions

The comments on social media were extremely divided. Some people took the father-of-two’s side, while others mocked him for being offended by the backlash. Others thought that the former Suits actress’s video really was insensitive and calculated, while others simply called the couple attention-seeking.

“Harry spends his entire existence being hurt by literally everything,” slammed one person on Instagram, followed by two eye rolling emojis. “He’s ALWAYS hurt and upset!” exclaimed a second, in agreement, as a third echoed: “What isn’t Harry hurt by these days?”

“Hurt by the backlash but not by his appallingly insensitive wife?!” commented a fourth, as a fifth added: “He should be hurt and disappointed in his wife.” “But Harry is not upset by Meghan introducing alcohol on his mom’s birthday? Harry is not upset by his wife disrespecting the late Queen? Harry is not upset by naming his father & SIL racist by his wife’s friend Omid Scabies?” a sixth asked. “Maybe his wife should be more respectful and there will be less backlash,” thought a seventh.

“I don’t see the problem with what Meghan did. People need to stop being offended by everything,” observed an eighth, as a ninth thought: “Meghan Markle could save a puppy from an alligator and y’all would still find fault. Personally, I love to see H&M thriving, just like Diana would’ve wanted. Keep on keeping on H&M!” “We love you, Meghan and Harry,” gushed a tenth.
