The 68th Grammy Awards are Sunday, and international girl group KATSEYE is among the many talented musicians who earned nominations this year.
KATSEYE earned two Grammy nominations, one for Best New Artist, a category which also includes standout musicians from the past year, such as Addison Rae, Olivia Dean, Leon Thomas and more. KATSEYE is also nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the hit song “Gabriela.”
But who is KATSEYE, one of the music industry’s rising stars of 2025? Here are some facts to know about the global girl group.
What is KATSEYE?
KATSEYE is an international girl group formed through the 2023 reality competition series The Dream Academy, produced by Geffen Records and HYBE Entertainment. The group’s formation was later chronicled in the Netflix docuseries “Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE,” per USA TODAY.
KATSEYE dropped its first project, a five-track EP titled “SIS (Soft Is Strong),” in the summer of 2024, which features the group’s first single, “Debut.” The music video for the song has since garnered nearly 80 million views on YouTube.
The group released a second EP, “BEAUTIFUL CHAOS,” in June 2025. The project includes its first Billboard charting track, “Gnarly” and “Gabriela,” which earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
KATSEYE’s musical style is a blend of Western pop and K-pop, with R&B influences, per the Grammy website.
