Prince William, Kate Middleton Support King After Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Arrest | E! News
Prince William and Kate Middleton are standing behind King Charles III amid the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. On Feb. 19, authorities in the U.K. confirmed the arrest of Andrew, formerly Prince Andrew, on allegations of misconduct in public office. Hours after the news broke, King Charles issued a statement, which E! News understands the Prince and Princess of Wales are fully supporting. In his message, Charles expressed his “deepest concern” upon learning of the situation and emphasized that a full, fair and proper process must now take place through the appropriate authorities. He reaffirmed that he, Queen Camilla, and the wider royal family are offering their “full and wholehearted support and cooperation” as the investigation moves forward. Charles also noted that, out of respect for the ongoing process, he will not comment further, adding that he and his family will continue their duty and service to the public. Authorities did not name Andrew directly, but confirmed the arrest of the royal family member, who stepped back from royal duties in 2019 and had his title removed in 2025. Andrew and his family have not yet spoken out, though he has continued to deny any wrongdoing. The King and Queen have reiterated their continued support for victims of all forms of abuse. Can we all just acknowledge for a moment that the palace knew about this for DECADES… and looked away. I’m guessing the care for child welfare is coming primarily from Catherine and then William by proxy. CSA has been part of Royal culture for generations… it’s just that the peasants started having a voice to share their anger via the media and social media.
