Charles Read is a paraplegic man who has been wheelchair-bound for roughly twenty-five years due to a spinal cord injury that left him unable to stand or walk. In early 2025, a woman in College Park, Georgia reported that a man had kicked in her door, entered her residence, assaulted her, and then ran away on foot. Based on her complaint, a warrant was later issued naming Read as the suspect.
