I wish all major artists felt this way, art is political. Art is needed to reflect what’s happening now. Good on Springsteen.
Bruce the Boss, is a Billionaire. Dolly Parton is not, by choice. He’s not a super billionaire. It’s not that hard. I love his music and respect his legacy, but I’m saving my hero worship until he really puts his money where his mouth is. Otherwise, it’s lip service to me. Sorry, not sorry.
Silence by artists, especially those who used to be outspoken, is incredibly telling for where their morals and ethics lie.
Silence is complicity.
Thank you, Bruce! You are a beacon. 💕
Any “fan” getting mad at Bruce has the media literacy of an amoeba. While yeah I wish he was more than just a classic liberal (having a podcast with Obama is wack as fuck), there’s a reason he can sell out an arena in every country on the planet: he’s built his career singing about the hardships of the working class. And Trump is firmly *not* a friend to the working class.
I think he’ll be ok. We had this same news cycle when Bruce told Ronald Reagan to stop using Born in the USA at events.
Hell yeah! Love this take. “Oh no! Pedophile Nazis don’t like me anymore!!!” How will I sleep at night.
Springsteen will probably remain comfortable sitting on his giant pile of money.
Friendly reminder that “Born in the USA” is a Vietnam war protest song
Only morons support Trump at this point.
