Taylor Frankie Paul’s Bachelorette Cancelation: Does She Get to Keep Major Paycheck?
Less than a week after ABC canceled Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of ‘The Bachelorette’ following the release of a video showing the ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ star hitting and throwing chairs at ex Dakota Mortensen, TMZ reports Taylor will keep her fee for participating in the show, which is estimated to be in the $250 thousand range. Meanwhile, ABC is expected to lose between $40 and $50 million on the scrapped season. This is bs. Everyone involved let her child down. How did this happen season 1 episode 1, and now y'all are outraged? How did Taylor go on for season 1,2,3,4 and now ppl feel some kind of way? Why did ABC pick up Taylor knowing this information? Why did Dakota suppress this information? (Until it was convenient).The only answer is bc they ALL wanted to get a bag. It doesn't make sense for ANYONE to be outraged at this moment. If you are you should look in the mirror and say this is my fault. You willingly kept watching/funding/supporting someone you feel is so horrible. The only reason why the Bachelorette is cancelled is bc the fans complained. Not bc they care but bc you ( that sat and watched and made her a "celebrity") complained NOW! Smh none of this makes sense to be honest, especially if you cared about the well being of the child. And ppl can say they didn't know how bad it was but you heard the facts, not once did that stop you from tuning in. I'm in no way a Taylor apologist. I just want ppl to see the facts.

Like can we speak on the fact that these are careers feeding families who most likely have kids – this comment irked me because behind a whole reality tv show, there is production (videographers, makeup, apparel, etc.) – those who throw comments out so lightly especially on a platform nationally really get to me, it’s like you’re really out here saying “take away the resources that keep food on the table for kids” & that’s just as bad as endangering a human life’s walk of life 👏

It’s absolutely unbelievable to me that ABC did NOT know about this! This was posted on you tube years ago and ANYONE could have seen it. It was NOT hidden. Dakota re posted the videos so he can keep Taylor from getting away from him. Sad but her story will probably be the the next 48 hour or dateline true crime show. I want to start seeing some equality when it comes to criminal acts. Women are let off the hook way too much. Start treating women the same way men are treated. After all, they’ve been known to say they can do anything a man can do, so let’s start dishing out some of those manly consequences on women that men usually face.
The following is my best analysis of events that led up to not showing the premiere episode of The Bachelorette Season 22 with Taylor Frankie Paul (TFP) as the bachelorette. Do not use anything stated here as background for other reports unless verified.
The purpose of this analysis is to determine what information about TFP should have been known to the Bachelorette producers/ABC management and when.
My first significant exposure to the Season 22 lead TFP was about two days prior to the TMZ release around 19 March 2026 of a video of an alleged domestic violence type event between TFP and her boyfriend Dakota. As of 17 March 2026, I learned that TFP had three kids. Two by then husband Mr. Paul and another out of wedlock with Dakota. That alone was enough to disqualify her as the Bachelorette. What respectable guy would want to date and marry a woman with three kids from two different guys and with a possible domestic violence background? Not me. Surely ABC management knew of these matters before TFP was announced as the next Bachelorette around September 2025.
TFP was a major cast member in the reality show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (SLOMW) on Hulu. I first saw two episodes of this show around 20 March 2026. I watched Season 1, Episode 1 (S1 E1) and S4 E10.
Season 1 episodes were all released on 6 September 2024 so the then allegation of domestic violence/assault against TFP would have been known to ABC after that date. Filming of Season 1 reportedly was spring and summer of 2023. If ABC did not wish to condone or ignore domestic violence, it should have been easy to check into the matter. Police records and court action may be public knowledge.
On 26 March 2026, I watched S1 E2 of SLOMW. Near the beginning, they state (on screen text) that is eleven months after TFP was arrested. TJP mentions her arrest, being charged with aggravated assault with three years of probation. I am not a lawyer so I can only surmise that TJP pleaded being guilty of assault or was convicted in a court. The following term may explain what happened: “…entered a guilty plea in abeyance.” Regardless of which, if the arrest and conviction was in fact the event in the TMZ video revealed around 19 March 2026, then in my opinion, it was inexcusable for ABC to have cast her as the Bachelorette and apparently planned on going on with the 22 March 2026 premiere episode of The Bachelorette had the TMZ video not surfaced.
Add in the unconfirmed allegations of one or two possible violent events in February 2026 with reported allegations going both ways between two parties, this is just a bad situation for any television organization to continue any relationship with TFP or promote any programming that involves her.
Season 4 of SLOMW was released on 12 March 2026. Episode 10 shows Dakota presumably spending the night with TJP the day before she was to fly to Los Angeles to film The Bachelorette. TJP missed her flight because she did not feel well. I can guess possible reasons why she did not feel well but it may well have been behavior inconsistent with The Bachelorette. Here is a woman about to go on a journey to find love and she perhaps had sex with Dakota baby daddy who she allegedly assaulted circa 2023. It was too late to tell the male applicants about that. Did ABC reveal to the men about her kids and the assault conviction?
Overall my opinion is that ABC management failed horribly in casting TFP as The Bachelorette and planning on going with the premier until the TMZ video release forced them to do the right thing.
There need to be multiple firings of upper management who knew about TFP’s past yet let her be cast in that role. If management in ABC’s parent company also knew, then they also need to go.
Season 22 should never be shown. Ideally, The Bachelorette/Bachelor and related shows need to be terminated.
What concerns me is that I have not seen a definitive statement that Season 22 will not be aired. All that I have seen is the following: “In a statement shared with ABC News on Thursday, a Disney Entertainment Television spokesperson said, "In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette' at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”
“…at this time…” leaves open showing Season 22 when the issue blows over. So we do not know if ABC will do the right thing.

This body camera video came out years ago, so it’s their own dumb fault for trying to use her already known drama to get ratings. Can we please as a nation stop watching trash reality television!!! All those people who crave reality television success have some kind of narcissism and their children grow up to hate them.
