What is the story? I know she went on some sort of leave but why do people think she is gone for good? Any specific reasons?
I’ve never seen a musical group work SO HARD at simply….being a musical group.
i know fans are upset and they have a right to be but i don’t agree with demanding manon stay in the group when it’s clear that the label doesn’t treat her well. why want to keep her continued in that situation?
some are thinking her absence is for a big coachella surprise and i think things have gone too far for that for a “fun” surprise.
yeah it’s over… i really loved katseye and all the girls but i fear their reputation has been so damaged already. will be supporting them whatever happens next

I honestly feel bad for the whole group. It feels like they are not getting to truly shine with their current creative direction and it’s sad because they are so talented. With the music girlies truly feeding us in this era, they should take more control of their image and push their vision because that will allow for longevity for them.

I decided to check all the members of katseye instagrams to compare, all of them include ” [INSERT NAME] FROM KATSEYE” in their bios.
I’ve only been casually engaging with them so I don’t know all the details, but safe to say, it’s not a good look 👀
i don’t wanna be downvoted for this but whatever i guess, in my opinion she should’ve never been in katseye to begin with, her personal style is very different than the katseye’s one, if you’ve followed her from before you know her style is not mainstream, it’s more underground and alternative with some R&B, the main reason she landed on Katseye was because hybe itself contacted her and she was meant to debut no matter what but honestly she should’ve debut as a solo artist, i think her potential goes like that and if she decides to drop music as a solo act I would love to see what she has to offer because i think she can be that fresh air of new talent the music industry needs.
Manon changes her bio a lot so I hope this isn’t confirming what we think it is? But if it is the case, it’s truly HxG’s loss. You can’t put it into words, there’s just something about Manon’s presence in the group that elevated it.

I honestly thought this was bound to happen. A bunch of teenage girls who did not grow up together nor had that much alike. AND she was the only black girl in the group managed by a racist company. There was no way this group would test the limits of time. I wish her well.
My long time theory about Adela becoming more successful of a musician compared to Katseye in the long run seems to still be taking flight.
This group was not meant for a serious music career…they were formed to sell products and brands. like that’s what this is.
Manon deserves better. Wish nothing but the utmost best for her.
Katseye will forever be associated with racism and anti blackness. There’s no way they can come back from this. Their remaining fans will be anti black and that’s it

The irony is, Manon should’ve never been in the group based on the actual metrics in Dream Academy, the selection process for the group.
HYBE always wanted to move at a fast pace, and Manon made it clear that she wanted to work at a different pace – which is fine! But the picked her because they knew they would gain a Western audience and specifically a black audience, in what was a pretty transactional move.
So now, they’re getting her out because she’s not meeting the pace… which they knew from the jump! And now, they’re going to bear the force of all the people who stanned the group because of Manon. Really silly of them.
I’m so out of the loop. What happened here? Aren’t they supposed to be at coachella in a week?
Honestly I feel bad for all the girls because to work THAT hard in Dream Academy only to be mismanaged by HxG? And be played with like this? Exhausting. The way this has all unfolded for PR or not is just such bullshit and so disappointing. Sending hugs and positive vibes to all of them but especially Manon.
I hope she’s good. I kinda expected this with the stupid yapping from Daniela’s father.

Well it was fun for the two or three songs that were good! Nice run, Katseye!
I’m not super tuned in to Katseye or their group drama, but I did watch Manon’s short film and really liked it. I thought it had style and substance and is the kind of stuff I’d want pop performers to engage in. I’m probably missing some group contract legal context or whatever but god forbid a girl have hobbies like making a short art film.
