When Brock Lesnar doesn’t close a WWE premium live event, he opens a WWE premium live event. Such was the case at tonight’s (Sun., April 19, 2026) WrestleMania 42 showcase at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he squared up with one of the hottest young prospects in many years, Oba Femi.
Considering how poorly received the first night of WrestleMania was, there was real concern of setting a bad tone for night two with a bad booking choice. They couldn’t go wrong with two massive men throwing hands with a clear direction, considering Lesnar is on the way out and Femi is on the way up, though.
Lesnar was throwing some big shots early and Oba was downright no selling him to his face, screaming right at him to bring it on. Even when Lesnar hit the F-5, Oba hardly sold it, getting right up to a knee and firing back with the Fall from Grace shortly after.
It only took one to get the pin.
That was as definitive a victory as they could possibly give him, and Lesnar sold like hell for the young man. He couldn’t have put him over any better at the biggest show of the year.
Michael Cole called Femi “the next big thing.”
After Oba went to the back, Lesnar took his gloves and boots off and left them in the ring. He was visibly emotional, crying as he did so. The fans cheered and hit him with a “thank you, Brock” chant.
