Instead, Hugh Jackman is a grim and grizzled version of the outlaw, giving intense Old Man Logan energy as he snarls, stabs, and menaces his way through a bloody world. A24 wants to make it clear that “This is not the Robin Hood you remember.” Instead, this is Robin Hood is all blood, guts, and murder. Well, in this economy, that’s to be expected, we guess. The Death of Robin Hood‘s trailer does a good job of making it plain that there’s no fantastical sheen to the Robin Hood myth. Instead, this sneak peek at The Death of Robin Hood offers up a raw Hugh Jackman performance and a gritty look, we assume, at the reality of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor.

Do we not all deserve salvation at the hands of a mysterious woman? Just what that means though, we’ll have to wait to find out. The Death of Robin Hood releases on June 19. It honestly has an all-star cast of Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe. Director Michael Sarnoski, who also helmed Pig and A Quiet Place: Day One, also takes the reins here.
Well, color us interested. It’s no hot fox, but The Death of Robin Hood has our attention.
