    1. Good. Let the villain be a villain. He can be sympathetic, of course, but one of the main reasons the Sony spider-villain movies failed was that they tried to make them into badass anti-heroes or just straight up heroes.

That’s all I needed to know. I will be seeing this in a theater anticipating a horror film

    3. If it’s not a hybrid don’t piggy back on DC fame for your “horror movie”.

I am really interested in how DC is building a credible Batman-less universe of Batman villains.

    5. I like that DC (unlike marvel) is happy to lean into the darker aspects of their characters. It’s much more entertaining than what at this point just amounts to corny and predictable superhero movies from marvel most of the time. There’s a reason the dark knight is so revered

This shows to me that Gunn understands DC. In the comics, the more “mature”, often horror, Vertigo properties shared a universe with Batman and Superman. Swamp Thing. Constantine. Sandman. And Batman’s rogue’s gallery is full of horror monsters. It’s Gods *and* Monsters.

Im so excited. There are two Batman baddies I’ve always wanted to see on the big screen. Clayface and Arnold Wesker.

But it is tho cause it’s set in a superhero world therefore making it a hybrid lol

I mean, the teaser didnt remind me of a horror movie. Ill watch it due to it being different, but they could have had better luck of a horror movie with Victor Szasz or hell, even a horror version of Scarecrow.

They compared it to Death Becomes Her and then call it a horror? Did they see Death Becomes Her?

As a fan of superhero films and a hater of horror, I appreciate the transparency.

      I’ll sit this out.

    12. And here’s to me hoping to see sum opera singing, and Shark bro with Harley quinzel. 😔

Edit: guess no one herez watched the show.

    13. I’m getting really sick of seeing stuff about this already. I’ve seen it spammed so much all over the place that I am legitimately hoping it bombs.

Someone I know who worked on this just told me ”its a shit movie”. Take from that what you will, I have no opinion about it.

    15. Clayface has nothing to offer me. When hes in a Batman movie cool but this? Pass

Sounds good, I’m kinda tired about how generic a lot of superhero movies are. Comics have been in a diversity of genres for … Basically as long as they have existed, but for some reason our movies lag behind and are kinda stuck in a very formulaic groove. Sometimes they get close, like ant man was almost a heist movie. I hope this is a sign that comic book movie adaptations are finally maturing as a medium. I would love to see adaptations of more mature subject matter, like an eternity girl miniseries.

    17. Well shit, I absolutely love Batman, and I absolutely hate horror. I guess this one is not for me.
