If you thought your favorite celebrities were serving on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, you haven’t seen Act Two: the afterparties! Sure, there are some — Margot Robbie, A$AP Rocky — who seized the chance to slip out of their impossibly tight bustiers and oversize bustles and into low-key jeans. But for many stars, it was just another opportunity to debut yet another Vogue-worthy ensemble. And if the afterparty looks feel a little more playful, our “kids rate” crew would probably agree — they had plenty of thoughts on the night’s wildest outfits.
From Hudson Williams’s leggy tuxedo look to Hailey Bieber’s structured mini, here are our favorite afterparty outfits. Bonus points if you can spot Naomi Osaka!
Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner (who was one of three KarJenner sisters to go nips-out for the Met Gala) didn’t stray too far from her carpet look when heading to the afterparties. Her second Zac Posen design of the evening featured a blush-colored bodice with a full sculpted torso rather than the little nip slip she’d teased earlier.
Hailey Bieber

Though the queen of Bieberchella went colorful for the Met steps, Hailey Bieber returned to her comfort zone later in the evening. The structured minidress designed by Dilara Findikoglu was made up of patches of different white and cream fabrics. And, of course, she was giving lots of leg!
Margot Robbie

Finally, someone who slipped into something a touch more comfortable. Margot Robbie traded her custom Chanel gown for a pair of light-wash denim jeans, a white tee and a gorgeous glittery jacket. She also changed out her sideswept bangs and bun for a super-cute bob moment. Put this in the dictionary under effortlessly chic, please!
Tessa Thompson

Tessa Thompson was all about structure on Monday night. After wearing a beautifully carved Valentino moment on the carpet, the actor changed into teeny black leather shorts paired with an elaborate pleated gold top.
Hudson Williams

Heated Rivalry’s Hudson Williams looked like he came out of the locker room half-dressed in this chic-meets-sporty afterparty ensemble. A tuxedo jacket and cummerbund paired with satin shorts and knee socks? It shouldn’t work, but it did.
Connor Storrie

After showing off his shoulders in a daring halter top at the main event, Connor Storrie, the other half of Heated Rivalry, decided to suit up — mostly. A brown chiffon cape added a flair of drama, and there was no shortage of skin thanks to Storrie’s exposed pecs.
Katy Perry

Though Katy Perry went masked at the Met Gala, the singer revealed herself at the afterparties in a pink minidress with a fluffy skirt. The piece was a very girlie departure from the structured (and extraterrestrial) look she wore earlier that evening.
Doja Cat
Doja Cat kept it nude.

Doja Cat may have resembled a Ritz-cracker sleeve on the carpet, but for the afterparties, she went for something less plastic. Keeping to the same nude color palette, the singer’s slip dress beautifully skimmed her body and showed off a bare leg.
Naomi Osaka
Believe it or not, Naomi Osaka is under there.

The tennis star went all out with performance art on Monday, including pulling off an outfit change on the steps of the Met. The afterparties got the same dramatic treatment, with Osaka concealing herself in white feathers and lace for a night out on the town.
Lena Dunham

After spending the evening in red sequins, Lena Dunham switched gears in a floaty, all-white dress paired with lace-up boots and loose locks.
Chase Infiniti

It was one bright color after another for “it” girl Chase Infiniti. She traded her Venus de Milo-inspired Thom Browne Met Gala number for this flowing, acid-green gown,
Olivia Rodrigo

Though Olivia Rodrigo was noticeably absent from the Met Gala itself, the Drop Dead singer couldn’t miss the parties. Rodrigo stepped out in a crocheted minidress with floral details and fringed sleeves.
A$AP Rocky
A$AP Rocky stepped out solo for the Saint Laurent Met Gala afterparty.

Rihanna’s metallic moment at the Met Gala was enough for the night. But her partner, A$AP Rocky, wanted to keep it going for the afterparties. The musician made the scene solo after swapping his pink Chanel tux for jeans, layered shirts and a shimmering lamé overcoat.
Tyriq Withers

Tyriq Withers left little to the imagination in a sheer shirt on the Met Gala carpet. By the time the afterparties rolled around, it was time to bundle up in this snuggly jacket.
Zoë Kravitz

Yes, Zoë Kravitz is still not letting anyone get a peek at that ring finger (said to sport an engagement ring from beau Harry Styles). The actor followed up her black lace Saint Laurent Met Gala gown with … more black lace!
