Melissa Barrera on the cast of Scream 7 being scabs: “Oh, one hundred percent. I think they all are. And they have to live with that. The only way they were able to make that movie after what happened was to nostalgia-bait as much as possible.”

She’s right about them being scabs but I hope she has something backing up the part where she said Paramount lied. Not because I care about Paramount, but because they could try to make her life more difficult if they claim it’s defamatory.

I still cant believe Matthew Lillard went to support her with Skeet at one of her opening after she was fired, and went and did the movie anyway….

I hope Paramount doesn’t get litigious over that claim 😕

  4. Wonder how Courtney Cox will take this… she was commenting support in Barrera’s Instagram posts a couple months ago.

if my theater manager had brought a bucket of shit and threw it against the screen, it would have been more fun

    GET THEIR ASS MELISSA

Fuck Paramount for turning this amazing franchise into what it is now and for literally everything else. I have been a diehard OG Scream fan forever as I think Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson are geniuses, but in good conscience I can’t support this shit and I’m glad that she is dragging all their asses.

I love her, and I’m glad she said this. Barred them up real good.

I love her so much !!! This is the time to speak with your chest and Melissa never disappoints

  9. while it’s disheartening (but not unsurprising) to know few people reached out, it’s good to hear boots riley did

i hope she gets to work with him soon

  10. To think…..they could have went on to make a handful more with the cast of the last one and fucked it up so bad, we’re hear now. Lol

    What a fucking absurd mistake.

Im so deeply out of the loop of what happened at all. Anyone got any links or YouTube videos that does an explanation?

I love Scream for what it is, but I fully agree. This film felt like mind numbingly bad. The others, while not exactly high art, did at least attempt to be different and meta. This one felt like the sort of film that was filmed without a script. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t even know who the murderer was when they started filming (one particular kill backs up this theory)

I agree with her 100%. Obviously, many of these people were with the franchise before her, so I get it to some extent from their side too. But continuing that franchise the way they did was weak at best. Also, 6 ended so stupidly, I’m surprised anyone wanted this watered-down PoS.

I was a die hard scream fan (admittedly mostly for nostalgic reasons) and I refused to watch after Melissa left

I hope this resonates in particular for Mason Gooding and Jasmine Savoy-Brown who basically sold their integrity for the most forced, shoehorned in reasoning for their characters to come back for all of 40 minutes of screentime.

  16. She stood up for humanity and spoke amount on what the entity was doing in Gaza and was punished for it. She is on the right side of history and history will validate her,it always does for people who stand up on the right side of history, aka Muhammad ali

  17. My question: who the fuck is asking for more SCREAM?

never should’ve been more than 1

    And good for her
