A third “Hocus Pocus” film is officially in early development at Disney and a follow-up to “Jurassic World Rebirth” is in development at Universal Pictures, reports Deadline.

The trade indicates the trio of “Hocus Pocus” stars – Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy – will return to reprise their roles as the Sanderson sisters.

Additionally, there are reportedly plans for a theatrical distribution component this time, in the wake of the success of 2022’s straight-to-streaming “Hocus Pocus 2”.

Talk of a third film first began back in 2023, but seemed to stall over an executive change and salary negotiations; the latter now apparently has been worked out.

Meanwhile, the trade confirms that the ‘Rebirth’ sequel, which marks the eighth overall film in the franchise, is in development.

No other details about the film have been announced, though it’s likely the core acting trio of Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali will be back along with filmmaker Gareth Edwards.
