Piper Rockelle, OnlyFans and why the internet is mad at her

The 18-year-old YouTube-child-star-turned influencer recently joined the adult content creation platform and made nearly $3 million on her first day.

Emmy-winning actress Jaime Pressly is carving a new road in her Hollywood career by launching an OnlyFans page.

Pressly, 48, started the venture to “create what I want, how I want, and share it directly with the people who’ve supported me for years,” she told People on May 7.

“I’ve always believed in evolving with the times,” the actress said in a statement that was first shared with TMZ. “This is another way for me to connect directly with my audience, on my own terms, with creativity and intention. I’ve loved meeting fans at various Comic Cons, and the excitement of having those real face-to-face moments made me want to seek options like OnlyFans.”

USA TODAY reached out to Pressly’s representatives for more information.

“This is where things get a little more personal, playful, and completely unfiltered 🌶️,” her OnlyFans bio reads. The page promises “exclusive photos” and videos, “behind-the-scenes moments from my life,” “late-night thoughts,” one-on-one chats, and “the side of me Hollywood doesn’t always get to see.”

Pressly, who played Joy Turner on all four seasons of “My Name is Earl” and earned an Emmy in 2007, later starred alongside Allison Janney, Anna Faris, and Mimi Kennedy on the CBS sitcom “Mom,” which aired from 2013 to 2021.

Also known for roles in 2000s comedies “I Love You, Man,” “Joe Dirt” and “Not Another Teen Movie,” Pressly has focused her career on television in recent years, appearing in “Welcome to Flatch,” “The Conners” and “Elsbeth.”

Shannon Elizabeth, Carmen Electra among other Hollywood stars who joined OnlyFans

Other Hollywood stars, including Bella Thorne, Sonja Morgan, Tyler Posey, and Carmen Electra have made headlines in recent years by starting OnlyFans accounts.

Though perhaps best known for being a lucrative destination for those who share sexual content, creators on the subscription-based platform offer a range of services and entertainment that draw from their expertise, from exercise to music.

Weeks before Pressly, “American Pie” actress Shannon Elizabeth, 52, also joined the platform on April 16 to take the reins of her career.

“I’ve spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled the narrative and the outcome of my career,” she told People magazine. “This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans.”

Creators Inc. CEO Andy Bachman, who helped Pressly launch her OnlyFans venture, told Variety that Elizabeth “grossed seven figures in her first week on the platform.”
