An Architect’s Hidden Bedroom Inside His 420-Sq-Ft NYC Studio | Architectural Digest
AD joins architect Brian Messana of Messana O’Rorke to tour his 420-square-foot studio apartment in New York City. When designing the space, Messana used his bed as a centerpiece while simultaneously hiding it inside a “jewel box”. Inspired by boutique hotel design, the home maximizes every inch with multifunctional furniture, a concealed kitchen, and minimalist interiors–creating a tranquil, airy space despite its small size.

I am enamored with well-appointed small living spaces and yours is absolutely perfection. I personally would have placed brass on the back of the front door to feel completely enveloped in that stunning space.
Fellow Designer here… Absolutely gorgeous and well thought out space!
This place is STUNNING 🤩
Masterful.
This is a minimalism dream. Well done.
I dont think it ever helps to hide a kitchen, because you constantly need to use it.
The ONLY Studio Apartment Here In NYC I'd Ever Consider…This Is The Power Of Interior Design.
Low-key dystopian.
LOVE IT!
Drinking game: take a shot every time he says "space"
stunning
You'd need a 'great' relationship living in a space that small with two people. It is beautiful though.
Wowsers! This is a phenominal transformation. As an unintentional maximalist I could only aspire to such clean lines and efficient design. Again, wowsers!!
Yesss need to partner with a developer for a high rise filled with these.
Take a shot every time he say 'space'
This is beautiful

Amazing
Love it. 😇👑🌍🌎🌏💚@undwallace
Double layer glass & brass coffee table. Books on bottom for decor/storage, upper level for coffee cups.
Oval shape.
I don’t know how two grown men don’t find a queen bed too small
Love what you have done. Edgy. yet sophisticated and stylist.
Modernity in design is the best !!~
The biggest mystery here is how could two such equally tidy, organized people find each other in this big world of messy people?
Fantastic space. The entire studio is a jewel box, just beautiful 🤩
No art o the walls?
There are some nice ideas here, especially compared to the original space. But it's so dark and claustrophobic. It feels like an apartment for a party person who never wants to see daylight.
